RC Motor and Propeller Performance Calculator
Work through three independent modules — motor RPM, propeller pitch speed and electrical power — for an RC motor and propeller setup.
Module A — Motor RPM
Theoretical no-load RPM:34,040
Module B — Propeller Pitch Speed
Not motor RPM when a gearbox is fitted.
Theoretical pitch speed:142.0mph(228.6 km/h)
Module C — Electrical Power
Electrical power:888 W
Formula
- 1.
Module A — Motor RPM = KV × Voltage (theoretical no-load) - 2.
Module B — Pitch Speed (mph) = Propeller RPM × Pitch (in) / 1056 - 3.
Module C — Power (W) = Voltage (V) × Current (A)
Worked example
- 1.Module A: 2300 KV × 14.8 V = 34,040 RPM no-load.
- 2.Module B: 30,000 RPM × 5 in pitch / 1056 ≈ 142.0 mph pitch speed.
- 3.Module C: 14.8 V × 60 A = 888 W electrical power.
Assumptions and limits
- Each module is independent — no inference is made between them.
- The tool does not predict thrust, efficiency, temperature or real flight speed.
- Module B needs propeller RPM, not motor RPM, when a gearbox is fitted.

FAQ
Why are the three modules separate?
Combining them into a single prediction chain would bake in unverified assumptions. Each module answers one question with a stated formula.
Does the power figure tell me real output?
It is input electrical power (V × A). Shaft power is lower after motor and ESC losses — this tool does not model efficiency.
Assumptions
- Module A uses no-load motor RPM (KV × voltage).
- Module B uses propeller RPM — divide motor RPM by the gear ratio first if the setup is geared.
- Module C computes simple electrical power; it does not model efficiency.
