RC Plane CG Calculator
Express the balance point as a percentage of wing chord from the leading edge.
Reference Chord Mode
The reference chord at the position you measured.

CG position
30.0% of chord
60.00 mm from LE
Percentage applies to the reference chord you entered — not necessarily the MAC. Always check the manufacturer’s recommended CG range.
Formula
- 1.
CG Percentage = CG Distance / Chord Length × 100
Worked example
- 1.Inputs: 200 mm chord, 60 mm CG from leading edge.
- 2.CG = 60 / 200 × 100 = 30% of chord.
Assumptions and limits
- A tapered wing’s MAC is a different chord than the root — do not substitute root chord for MAC without a MAC calculation.
- Stay inside the kit’s published CG range.
