RC Thrust-to-Weight Calculator
Compute the thrust-to-weight ratio of an airplane or multirotor setup.

Thrust-to-weight ratio
1.50: 1
3,000.00 gf thrust vs 2,000.00 gf weight
A performance reference — not a real climb-rate or flight-behavior guarantee.
Formula
- 1.
Thrust-to-Weight Ratio = Thrust / Weight - 2.
Per-motor mode: Total Thrust = Thrust per motor × Motor count
Worked example
- 1.Inputs: 800 gf × 4 motors, 2000 gf weight.
- 2.Ratio = 3200 / 2000 = 1.6.
Assumptions and limits
- >1 does not guarantee unlimited vertical — prop efficiency and drag apply.
- Keep mass and weight in the same unit; do not mix kg with gf.

FAQ
What ratio do I need?
Trainers fly around 0.5–0.7, aerobats >1 — treat it as a reference, not a promise.
Assumptions
- Thrust and weight share the same force unit (gf).
- Per-motor mode assumes every motor produces equal thrust.
- Static bench thrust is not full-flight thrust.
